How does it work?

• Active-Direct system
• The water used in the home is circulated through the system
• The controller compares temperature of a sensor at the collector with temperature of the water in the bottom of storage tank
• When collector temperature is warmer the controller turns on small pump
• Which allows the cold water to circulate from the bottom of storage tank to the collector in order to be heated
• The heated water returns to the top of the tank

• Circulating pump is very small
• Uses about same amount of electricity as 100 watt lightbulb

• Possibility to add small photovoltaic solar panel to operate the circulating pump
