Integrated Collector Storage System (ICS)

How does it work?

• Passive-direct system
• In this system the storage tank for hot water is inside a flat-plate collector
• It works best as a “pre-heater” for conventional or tankless water heater
• It only requires local water pressure
• No pumps, controls, mechanical or electrical components are required
• Works automatically

• The cold water line feeds into the collector
• The system pressure feeds the water
• As hot water is used it pulls heated water out of the collector into conventional water heater
• The storage tank is filled with solar heated water instead of cold water
• Which allows the conventional heater to work significantly less
